Rainforests are some of the most beautiful places on the planet. Rainforests also are very important to the world’s ecosystems in that they are called the “lungs of the planet” absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen that the world needs. Rainforests can also be a huge factor in the weather of the planet and the reduction of green space in rainforests has been in part blamed for global warming. There is now a global effort to help preserve many of the planets rainforests by limiting encroachment and rewarding industries that log responsibly with rotations that promote growth and preservation of the rainforests as a whole.
