It seems as if nothing could affect the large and mighty cliffs of Big Sur, but recent droughts and wildfire are hurting the coastal region and greatly changing its atmosphere. What once was a region to spot whales up close, is now a region where fewer and fewer animals are seen each year.
While global warming is often a cause of drought, warming temperatures also makes any drought far more severe. Warmer temperatures increase water demands and evaporation, which puts greater stress on water supplies.
