The Rio Olympics Have Gone Green!

The diving pool and now the water polo pool have turned bright green, and the athletes are not pleased. Some suggest it’s an algae bloom, while others suggest it’s a change in alkalinity, but everyone seems convinced that the green color will have no affect on the athletes’ health and safety. In other news, Phelps won the 200m individual medley semifinal, Ledecky won her third gold medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay, and a 43-year-old American took home gold in cycling proving that age is just a number! Your updated medal count is below:

  1. United States: 32 (11 Gold, 11 Silver, 10 Bronze)
  2. China: 23 (10 Gold, 5 Silver, 8 Bronze)
  3. Japan: 18 (6 Gold, 1 Silver, 11 Bronze)
  4. Russia: 15 (4 Gold, 7 Silver, 4 Bronze)
  5. Australia: 12 (5 Gold, 2 Silver, 5 Bronze)
  6. Great Britain: 12 (3 Gold, 3 Silver, 6 Bronze)
