Valdivian Rainforest

Located mostly in Chili and a small part in Argentina, the Valdivian Rainforest is a temperate rainforest that boasts 70% of its animal life is rare. While encroachment, highways and illegal logging have taken a toll, there are concerted efforts underway to preserve the beauty of this rainforest for future generations. One of the reasons for this has been a surge in the eco-tourism industry. Private citizens have even taken a hand in conservation, buying and protecting huge tracts of land in the forest region.
