These National Parks Come Alive in Autumn
By Landry Harper |
SHENANDOAH NATIONAL PARK IN VIRGINIA
This national park, which covers an area of approximately 300 square miles, is the perfect place to visit in fall. It is heavily forested with diverse tree species such as the chestnut and oak trees. While these trees turn kaleidoscopic during the fall, becoming the main attraction, you’re bound to also come across a number of colorful ivy, sumac and sassafras. The best times to visit are in mid-October to early November.
