Located on the southwest side of Tahiti, Teahupoo is one of the most distinguishable waves in the world. Because of separate reefs off of the cost, the force of two separate breaks is actually forced into one wave, leading to incredibly powerful waves. They are also incredible unstable, due to the semi-circular shape of the main reef over which it breaks, earning it the title of “Heaviest Wave in the World.”
