Just a few hundred miles south of the Arctic Circle, Oymyakon rests comfortably on the freezing tundra of Siberia. Once a stopover for reindeer herders, some 800 Siberians now call Oymyakon their permanent home. Daily life in this region takes some serious gusto, seeing as temperatures as low as -96.16 fahrenheit are recorded each year. Think you could handle it? Just imagine your hair freezing as soon as it’s washed!
