Hiking & Treking
22 Most Dangerous Hiking Trails Ranked
#12 The Kokoda Track, Papua New Guinea
Once the scene of fighting between Australians and the Japanese in 1942, The Kokoda Track has seen its fair share of violence. Until recently, the trail was dormant for such reasons. In 2009 thirteen people died in a plane crash on the way to the trail, while four others died on the trail. Hikers will face malaria, hot temperatures, freezing nights, constant rain, and stair after stair…after stair. Set aside eleven days if you plan to complete this trek.
