Before 1985, fifty-five deaths were reported on the Drakensberg Traverse. Each year deaths occur on the 40-mile trail, but officials have stopped counting the numbers. Part of what makes the trail so dangerous is the steep ladders and climbs. This one is well worth it though, as you will see some of the most beautiful terrain the world has to offer.
