22 Most Dangerous Hiking Trails Ranked

#7 Mist Trail, California

This 14.5-mile trail is the most popular route to Yosemite’s Half Dome. Upwards of sixty people have died along this path, which features a final 400-foot ascent with cables for assistance. But the continual rain keeps these cables slippery, and they are prone to lightning strikes as well. Five people have died in this section in the past nine years, and they were cases where the rock was wet.
