22 Most Dangerous Hiking Trails Ranked

By  |

#5 The Kalalau Trail, Hawaii

Go ahead and isolate yourself in the jungle on this trail, which weaves through steep volcanic cliffs. This 22-mile, round-trip hike features the best of Hawaii, along with severe flooding, falling rock, and slippery ledges. The most dangerous parts of the trail are on the remote beaches, which are home to a transient community. One drug addict threw a Japanese hiker off a cliff. More than a hundred people have died on these beaches.
