22 Most Dangerous Hiking Trails Ranked

By  |

#15 Maroon Bells South Ridge, Colorado

This is seemingly a harmless twelve-mile round-trip hike, but what many hikers don’t see from the onset are the loose rock fields, steep inclines, and infinite opportunities to get lost. Though the fickle weather may be the greatest threat of all. Once you reach 11,000 feet on the east slope you’ve made it to the worst section of the trail. Eight people have died in this area, some of which are expert climbers.
