15 Best Dog Breeds for Hiking Buddies
Vizsla
Once trained, the Vizsla may be one of the most underrated dog breeds out there. Yes, they can be very stubborn and independent, but when they finally accept you as boss they turn into an obedient pet at the snap of a finger. They also have great endurance and strength, so they’re happy to be part of any hike, short or long. They will get curious, however, so it’s important to keep a careful eye on them if you stop to camp over night.
One of the underrated characteristics of the Vizsla is that they make pretty good watch and guard dogs, which is definitely a plus in bringing him along.
