One Day in Dubrovnik, Croatia

Continue your journey through the streets of the city. Dubrovnik is known for its beautiful architecture dating back to the Byzantine Empire, but is also scarred from the Croatian War of Independence from former Yugoslavia. Take note of the many plaques that delve into the diverse history of the city and describe the city’s pride in their independence.

Once you’re ready to chill out, make your way toward Café Buza near the Jesuit church of St. Ignatius. Look left for a sign that reads “Go Right for Cold Drinks And a Beautiful View.” Follow along as you literally walk through the fortified city wall. What you see beyond will leave you speechless! A cafe that sits cliffside on the rocky island of Old Town. Hang here for a happy hour you’ll never forget. Watch the cliff jumpers as they leap towards the abyss. Heck, go on and join them!

When you’ve had enough adrenaline for one day, grab your things and head back towards the Pile Gates. Make sure to stop in a market and pick up your choice of picnic supplies along the way! Try the Croatian delicacy pršut, which is the region’s take on cured ham.
